It can manifest in different forms, ranging from mild confusion or disorientation to more severe states of cognitive impairment. In essence, confusion represents a disruption in the normal cognitive processes that help individuals navigate and understand their environment.

Pessimism is a philosophical or psychological outlook that tends to emphasize the negative aspects of situations, events, or outcomes. Pessimists typically expect the worst possible outcome in any given circumstance and often view life through a lens of cynicism or distrust. This perspective can lead to feelings of hopelessness, despair, and a lack of motivation. However, it's worth noting that pessimism can also be a defense mechanism or a way to mentally prepare for disappointment.

Holly Roberts earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma and her master’s degree in Risk/Crisis Communication from the University of Kentucky. Holly specializes in reputation management, media relations, issue management, and social media. She has published several academic articles related to these topics and regularly presents research at national and international conferences. In addition to her professional interests, Holly enjoys traveling, volunteering with her sorority, teaching at the University of Maryland, listening to true-crime podcasts, and reading scary books that keep her up at night.

It is driven by feelings of anger, resentment, or a desire for vindication, and it can have profound emotional and psychological consequences for both the avenger and the target.

On this episode we dive into DISAPPOINTMENT with former Professional Athlete and Collegiate Coach, Becca Arbino.
Becca grew up playing softball and has created a career leading teams to personal and professional greatness! She played Division 1 Softball at Texas A&M and San Diego State University. Then played professionally in Italy. After returning to the states she started as a Division 1 coach and then moved to Division 2 and 3 finding her current home at Rhodes College as the head softball coach. She also went on to obtain her Masters of Organizational Leadership. The quote she resonates with her leadership style to most is: ‘no bad hops, just slow hands’ which translates across the board regardless of the topic to things like ‘no bad moves just poor planning’ or ‘no bad situations, just slow to adjust.’
